ICAT Control Study

Seeking healthy control participants for a clinical psychology research study!

Participate in one research assessment at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s campus. Provide information about your background and complete self-report questionnaires, performance-based measures of social cognition, and other psychological research tasks. You will also be asked to wear a non-invasive heart monitor during a short (5-minute) relaxed breathing exercise.

The assessment should last approximately 2-hours for which you will be compensated $15 per hour, prorated to the nearest half hour, for up to two-hours ($30). We will also compensate participants $5 for this study visit to off-set the cost of travel to/from UNC’s campus.

Research studies are an important part of gaining new knowledge. Without them, progress in psychology research and treatment would not be possible. Right now, researchers are looking for healthy control participants from the community to participate in a local research study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

To be eligible for this study, you must be between the ages of 18 – 35, be proficient in English, and have no current or past diagnosis of a psychotic disorder, major mood disorder, or other psychiatric illness. Individuals with a first-degree family member with a current or past diagnosis of a schizophrenia spectrum disorder will also be ineligible for participation in this study.

For more information and to verify eligibility for the study, please contact the I-CAT Controls Study team via email (icat-ctrl@unc.edu) or by phone (919-962- 4234).
